Bonjour Chef D! Just wanted to thank you for the "delightful summer dining delight"! We had a wonderful time and it was a really unique way to celebrate my special birthday. The food was interesting and it was really fun to try something different and have the "hands on" experience for the cooks and non-cooks among us. (The kids particularly liked "torching" the dessert.) The experience of learning and working together with friends and family to create a great meal to share is a fantastic way to celebrate any occasion and we have already recommended it to others. Through a work colleague who lives in Ramsey, we learned of a wonderful dinner party which she had recently attended with Chef Dominique, a culinary instructor and former owner of the successful restaurant “Chez Dominique”. As amateur “Foodies,” we were intrigued to find out that Chef Dominique had first worked with the host to create a menu for the party and then oversaw the preparation of the meal at their house. Let’s see a highly experienced French Chef helps you prepare a great three course menu, you- the closet chef in training- get to work along side of a true professional and learn a few tricks or two as you help cook the meal in the comfort of your own kitchen, and then you and your company get to consume the results with a choice bottle of wine. What, we mused together, could be wrong with this concept? Nothing, as our own experience with Chef Dominique later proved. A week or so in advance of our dinner, to help celebrate Gordon’s birthday, we settled on a menu of lobster/scallops/shrimp tart to start, followed by braised lamb shanks with couscous, and a chocolate Bouchon with crème anglaise for dessert. Chef Dominique arrived punctually to begin the preparation of the meal. For the next several hours, the three of us worked steadily to prepare dinner, as Chef Dominique simultaneously cooked and directed us in the preparation of the necessary ingredients. During this time we came to quickly appreciate both the skill required of a professional chef and the artistry of timely orchestrating the creation of a truly great meal that seamlessly flows from start to finish. When we eventually sat down with Chef Dominique and the rest of our family and guests to enjoy the collective fruits of our labor, we were not disappointed by the results. Simply put, cooking with Chef Dominique was a great learning and eating experience for these two foodies in training. Whether your cooking objectives are modest, like ours, or more ambitious, like those who have dreamed of opening their own restaurant, the experience of cooking with Chef Dominique will serve to reward gastronome and dreamer alike. I threw a 60th birthday / hands-on dinner party for my mother and her friends. They absolutely loved the whole “In-House Chef” personal experience. Chef Dominique came to our home in advance of the date and spent a good amount of time with us suggesting and reviewing potential menus and assisting us with the wine pairing prior to the dinner party. We chose an exciting meal of three courses that we could never make on our own at home. You can shop for the ingredients on your own or chef can assist you as well. We chose to get most of the ingredients on our own as it added to the total cooking experience. The dinner party went perfectly. The chef was beyond prepared with every pot, pan, gadget and apparatus conceivable, he was extremely organized, knowledgeable and enthusiastic to answer questions and to teach the guests how to prepare the meal from scratch. Everybody got a job ( and a glass of wine) and it was quite a team effort. The price was great, the experience was delightful and the kitchen left spotless! My mother and her guest raved about the meal and Chef Dominique. They plan to mark many more birthdays and special occasions with Chef Dominique and his exquisite culinary experience Suzanne Sweeney |

Dear Chef, Thank you for such a lovely evening of “Culinary Instruction” last night. Russ, my neighbors and I thoroughly enjoyed our cooking lesson/demonstration. We each had a different “pearl or Tip” that we can use for future menus. I cannot thank you enough for your patience, flexibility and willingness to work with our group of friends. We wanted to do something different, interesting and fun- well we certainly succeeded! Two of our guest approached me last night and said “Great Idea!” They had a wonderful time and will be talking about this experience for weeks and months to come.
